SCALA CINEMA
While at 2D Design I produced some of the later scala cinema programmes, up until it was closed after a sneaky screening of A Clockwork Orange that they paid dearly for. I was very proud to be asked to design their poster for the documentary film Scala!!! It was based on the very individual style of the programme. Some examples of how it used to look below.
After the Scala cinema closure in 1993 the Scala project continued to programme films in cinemas across london and nationwide. The challenge was to recreated the programmes on a computer while still retaining the edge of the originals that were created with scalpuls and glue – cut and paste – with limited inks : black plus 2 colours.
